Our flight from Quito, Ecuador went via Bogota, Colombia.

It was kind of sad to get so close to Colombia and not being able to get off. We did think about spending some time here, but we were running out of time and had so much more countries to visit. Bogota and its surroundings looked beautiful from the plane. We noticed it was very green and mountainous.

Bogota airport was pretty impressive as well, better than any of the other airports in South America we have been to. The people definitely take pride in the way they look (apparently more than 50% of the women here have had some kind of plastic surgery and the plastic surgeons here are amoung the best in the world).

We could not visit Colombia and leave without buying coffee, so we did. Something to look forward to when we return!!

As our connecting flight to San Jose, Costa Rica, was with a different airline, they made us go through immigration first in order to collect our luggage. From there we had to check back in and go through custom again (much to our surprise and that of the officers on duty). Two more stamps in our passport later, we got on our Taca flight to San Jose around 3pm.
