Wow, what kids learn about English culture! I couldn't believe it when Alex showed me the note (pic) he received from a  young second grader.

Well, I've started my 3rd week of school.  Monday was my first day as a secondary school teacher.  It was okay, but I don't think it helps matters that I have a cold and feel miserable :P I'm probably just going to take it easy for the next few days.

Lee, who was my roommate, finished up her last week in the program on Sunday - (sniff) it seems much quieter now.

Anyway, that's it for now ...

Aw, thanks guys - now the problem, finding the cheesburger, fries, and cosmo ;) The biggest stereotype is that all Americans are fat, but honestly it is the Europeans that keep saying that. Most Thai really don't make a distinction between American vs. European, the note was given to the other teacher - who is from Spain.

I hope you feel better soon! Perhaps your family has some interesting home remedies you could share with us? Also, what is the biggest sterotype that the Thai's have about Americans?

I tell you what, kids these days! I hope you feel better soon and get rid of those nasty germs. Maybe eating cheeseburgers, small fries, and cosmos will help. Or, you know, maybe not.

I liked the picture, very funny. Where do your students get most of their western ideas? I suppose TV, radio and such are rare in the outer villages?
