We finally crossed into Osorno from Bariloche after snow warnings, bus strikes and a complete power failure on our last night in Bariloche! There didn't seem to be much to do in the South so we headed straight for the capital, Santiago.

Its pretty similar to many European cities and seems like a cool place. Its quite expensive compared to Buenos Aires so only spending few days here then heading north to see the desert, then onto the salt flats of Bolivia. We did all the usual tourist things like walking around all the monuments and famous buildings and also hiked up the mountain where you get a great view of the city and mountains.

Had a few very random nights and days here and really enjoyed the place but now looking forward to hitting the north.

We managed to meet up with three Irish girls who were in Bariloche before and they seem to be heading the same way so I think we will end up traveling together for a while. They enjoy their drink so I think we will get on well! We also met up with a Chilean guy, Alvaro, over here so its been great having him here to take us out to clubs and tell us all the best places to go.

Had a few very random nights and days here and really enjoyed the place but now looking forward to hitting the north. More pics from here at http://picasaweb.google.com/hughes.niall/Chile
