Next stop was Quito (again) to recharge the batteries after a hectic couple of weeks cruising around the Galapagos.  Not really much to report as did not do much.  We stayed in the same hostel as before so participated in a couple more rum and coke nights for old times sake.  Went to the casino a couple of times, killed them on the first night although still kicking my self for knocking back the first three drinks before realising they were free.  Over the course of the next couple of nights we gave all the winnings back and ended up exactly even.....except we probably drank about $20 worth of beer so you could say we were up.

Only other real thing of note was we went to the Teleferico which is a cable car up one of the mountains.  We had to queue for over 2 hours and then when we got to the top it was FREEZING... who would have thought it would be cold at 4000m altitude?....not us, we certainly got some strange looks for getting around in shorts and thongs.  Once up the top you can attempt another walk up to a nearby mountain, we started walking but at 4000m high Jo's heart rate was going at a similar figure per minute so we pinned it acknowledging we maybe need some more exercise and possibly some shoes before we attempt our next ambitious walk.  We have also come to the conclusion that Jo possibly just has puny little lungs that are weak (like the Ukraine).

After 5 days we finally managed to suss out that the road to Baños has been re-opened after the Volcano wiped it out 2 weeks back, so next stop Baños.
