One and half hours north of Koh Samui by fast ferry is Koh Tao a small island only really developed for tourists in the last 5 years, it is very famous for its diving so most of the resorts on the island are dive resorts where you can obtain your dive certificate.  It is a great place to unwind, however the water temp is currently in the 30's and is actually to warm to swim in off the shore, rather than been refreshing you feel like you are sitting in a spa pool.  We quite like the feel of the place so may stay for a while.  Day 3 of 5 we did a snorkeling trip around the island of Koh Tao, this was a great way to see the whole island and some pretty awesome under water life, the fish and corals were some of the best we have seen.  We took in many a great sunset on the beach and loved the bars that put out bean bags on the beach for the evening a great way to relax even more.  We did attempt to explore the island by motor bike which was near impossible due to the roads or lack of.
