My glimpses of St. Louis were much shorter and less significant than I had hoped, and yet I found myself stuck there longer than I had hoped. The Amtrak and the greyhound conspired against me so that I arrived at 10 pm and could leave no sooner than 6:30 am. I was lucky to find a very nice hostel called the Huck Finn. There were two girls on a big road trip also there and it was fun to share adventure stories. I rose very early and had a quick run around the neighborhood to find an atm. I got a bus into town where I could walk to the train station. I was able to snap a few pictures of the city and the Mississippi as we rolled out of town. I guess I wanted a break from the bike - sore butt and legs. But more so, I am enjoying a sense of freedom to have any and every adventure I want.
