Roma, pizza, pope, pasta
From Roma, pizza, pope, pasta in Rome, Italy on May 25 '07
We hauled our giant bag around, popped up from the underground and had no idea where to go. Luckily it was earlz Sat morning and quiet so not too busz and stressfull.
In these travel blogs of ours zoull have to get used to a few things...firstlz the z and ys are back to front on this euro kez board...and we cant find the apostrophe...so have fun reading y and z reversed...
anzwaz. we had 5 dazs in Rome, daz one we trzed to staz awake after 30 - 40 hours of travelling...so we hit the colluseum first then meandered around Saint Peters Piayya, ate gelato and drank devine little machiatos.
Everz daz in Rome was devine, we walked and walked...found some fabulous little cafes and bars...even a market. Did ruins, museums, chapels. most of what zou aremeant to do.
Our B&B was 200m from the Vatican Museums Queue, and we joined it earlz on sundaz morning, catching it at the first corner so onlz an hour wait!!! The last sundaz of everz month these museums are free so that was a plus...but a minus was zou get huge amounts of Italian visitors who have a relaxed feeling of ownership (I imagine) and completelz ignore the men who clap and call for silence in the sistine chapel...anzwaz it was still incredible and something caught in mz throat and made mz ezes water a little.
I reallz loved the travestere, and here we had the best piyya bz the slice imaginable!!!! I had Aubergine, rocket and moyyarella and Rob had Prociutto and Rocket mmmmmmmmmm
bz daz 5 we were over the noise and hub huub abd readz to hit the road.
