Impressive churches in Cologne
From Short trip to Germany in Cologne, Germany on Mar 04 '07
Went to Cologne for the day. But being a Monday all the museums were closed. Got a map from the information centre and did a tour of the churches.
We went to the Dom first (see the entry for that) and then we did some shopping. It is quite a nice shopping area in Cologne. There is a really cool store called Globe Trotter. It has 4 or 5 floors of travelling gear which in itself is pretty impressive but it as also has a pool for testing diving gear, inflatable rafts and goodness knows what else.

The old part of cologne by the Rhine is very beautiful. Beautiful houses and cosy restaurants and pubs.
We went to see a few of the Rominesque churches. Plain inside but very striking buildings. Most of them were damaged in the war but they have been rebuilt to the original state.
