This morning I woke up to go take pictures of Nick rowing on the Arno river. I took a few pictures, but then the battery died and I ran back to get a replacement. When I got back to the river, the camera was frozen. By the time I made it back to the river, Nick must have been finished. So the plan is to take pictures of him on Friday morning... I can't wait, it is so beautiful.

Sean and I got pastries and headed towards Nick's school. We passed the Uffizi and Santa Croce. We walked through a lot of small alleys didn't quite have a route planned out. When we reached the Piazza of Nick's school, I noticed a bakery shop that my guidebook claimed had "the best chocolate cake in the world", so we stopped in and bought two little cakes that looked delectable.

We had also decided that we would shop for some food for us all to cook that night. We found a supermarket, and started to collect the ingredients we thought we'd need. It was a harrowing experience for me. So many people, so many carts, these weird scanner things. But we made it out alive, and had the neccesities.

When we headed back towards our apartment, it felt like we had been walking for hours. We took the southern path along the river all the way home. It was beautiful (we took most of the pics on the "big" camera, so we can't upload those yet). After we got back, we took a long nap.

We met up with Nick, saw the church near his apartment, and went back to our place to cook dinner.  We all helped with dinner, but Nick was in charge.  He was so excited to eat such a large portion of food (I think he might be starving most days).

Sean and I ate the chocolate cake just before bed, and it was SUPERB!  I can't believe something that yummy exists... it was by far the best chocolate cake I've ever had!
