Visiting Rachael

I went to Lucknow to visit to my good friend from primary school Rachael Williams. By some crazy coincidence the town her sister lives is just 1 hour from where my friend Lisa's mum lives. Catching up with her was great, although it is funny that it took coming to the other side of the world for us to hang out. Rachael had met some guys the night before who had offered to take us out 4 wheeling. Unfortunately one of them got in trouble for not going to his grandmothers birtday celebration over the weekend so was unable to come. So instead of let us be bored Rach suggested that we go for a drive instead. As we drove along I got to see my first maple tree forest and my first sugar shack - the place where they process the maple sap into the delicious maple syrup. After the weather turned from being absolutely gorgeous to pouring with rain our drive turned into pub crawl. I got to sample many Canadian beers... prehaps a few too many as although I had an awesome time, the next morning all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball and die. Unfortunately my throbbing head and upset stomach wouldnt allow such an easy way out so Rachael and I spent the day suffering instead. Although I did get a tour of Lucknow and we watched the Lion and the Witch and the Wardrobe before heading back to bed!
