Florence and a Tuscan Dinner

Day 8:

We started out early on our way to Florence and it didn’t take long before we were there. Before making it into town we stopped and took a real nice group photo with the views of Florence in the background.

After checking into our hotel we drove into town and had a few hours to explore the city on our own. Meera and I got some shopping done and made our way to the Duomo and the Galleria dell’Accademia where we saw the famous statue of David.

We met with our group a few hours later and took a walking tour of the city where we saw the famous Ponte Vecchio, and the Galleria degli Uffizi. Near Ponte Vecchio Meera and I did shopping at the little markets and had some yummy Italian gelato.

After getting back to our hotel we quickly changed into our nice clothes and attended a beautiful Tuscan dinner. We had a five course meal, listened to a live opera singer, accordion player and a wonderful piano player throughout the night. That was definitely a great way to wrap up our time in Italy.
