We left England for Bangalore on the 25th of February. Bangalore is truly a city full of contradictions, and the preconceptions we had surprised us. Here we found elderly Indian women with the funkiest mobile phones and internet being used by all ages and status. We actually found it a little difficult to find good curry but pizzas and burgers were available plenty. This city is truly an example of what India has become; it was a real shock to the system.
We moved east from Bangalore two days later too Chennai… on while on the train met two interesting grandmothers, and Prashant from Jodhpur, who was working in Chennai. Chennai itself wasn’t very exciting……we decided we had enough of the city and went in search of the hippy culture that India is so renowned for. We found ourselves in Mahabalipuram.
