Day 1 - Halifax to Baddeck. We drove through the awesome scenery of Novia Scotia alongside the coast and past rolling green hills towards our destination of Cape Breton Island. On the way we stopped to go go karting - yay! It's fun but howcome I always get the stuffed car?? Then we went to the beach and it was soo hot. I was dying to finally swim in Canada but wouldn't you know it, the waters were full of jellyfish. So I had a quick dip and then we drove on to Carman's house (our guide) where we were to spend the next 2 nights. The house is in a place called Aberdeen and overlooks the ocean and is pretty much in a rural area. It was so nice! Me and 2 of the boys went sailing on a real sailboat and drank a few beers. I've never been on one before so it was really cool. Saw Alexander Graham Bell's mansion too. That night we had a bbq and a bonfire. Apparently bears like marshmallows and they have quite a few in the area and they've been down to the house before and ate marshmallows from outside, so I kept being paranoid while we were eating them that a bear was right behind us.

Day 2 - The Cabot Trail. It was so foggy today that everywhere we went was like being in a horror film. Hiked Skyline Trail, a trail off the Cabot Trail, through the woodsand up to the coast. Saw a baby moose! It was big though and I didn't want to hang around cos they're known to charge. Couldn't see much of the coast, try none, cos it was too damn foggy. Later on, walked to a waterfall while everyone else went whale-watching (they saw quite a few whales) then hiked up to Black Brook to see another waterfall. We cooked spaghetti and had another bonfire - still no bears!
