We managed to get a ridiculously cheap flight from London to France through Ryan Air. To make the whole process even cheaper we chose to sleep in the airport. Peter rang to check we could and the lady laughed as she said yes, we were soon to discover why... it was about 11pm when we got to the airport and there were bodies laid about against pretty much every wall you could see. It was crazy, I have never seen anything quite like it. We were woken about 4:30 as we had chosen a spot in front of one of the check in queues. Luckily we didnt have to wait that long to check in... Once we arrived in France we caught a train down to Bordeaux to stay with some girls we had met in a hostel on our arrival in the UK. We stayed with a girl called Helene and her and her family were absolutely lovely hosts. Eating French food after the blandness of English food was awesome. My first real french brie was particularly nice, washing it down with some nice French wine made it all the better!

Bordeaux itself was an absolutely lovely city, the town centre was pretty much as it had been a few hundred years ago, everything blended in and nothing seemed out of place. To make it even more picture perfect there was a distinct lack of advertising, meaning there was nothing to tarnish the town or distract you from the beauty of it.

One of the highlights while in Bordeaux was sitting around with a group of French people playing trivial pursuit. Peter and I tried to read out the question in French while they tried to understand us so that they could translate it for us. It was great fun!!!
