Weeee first entry!
Well here I am, about 36 hours before I leave for Albany airport and I'm still not really packed. I have piles and lists of things, but I'm certainly not ready to go yet. I'm trying to pack light; I'm there for 3 seasons, but I have "free" (as in I was already automatically charged up the nose for) laundry, so I don't have to bring toooo much stuff. I'll be living in a flat with 4 or 5 other girls, but it pretty much only comes with a stove and some pots and pans so I'm kind of on my own when it comes to everything else. I want enough to not have the bare minimum, but not so much that I have way too much, if you get my drift.
Thankfully Mother Nature got the snow out of her system today, so I should (*knock on wood*) be Ok to fly out of Albany early Friday morning. My plane leaves around 6:30 AM, so I get to drag one (or more) of my loving family members out of bed around 4 to drive me there. What a fun way to say good-bye! Then I get to sit on a plane and/or in an airport terminal for about 9 hours just to get to LA. I'll be meeting up with Ella, my best buddy, there with whom I'll be traveling to Christchurch, so life will be a bit more exciting once I hit LA. I have another 8 hour layover there, so perhaps we can fit in some time for exploring. See some celebs. You know.
But until then, I have to weed through the "wants" and the "needs" of my orginal pile of stuff, pick up some last minute things, try and get some sleep, and (knowing me) double check everything a million and one times before heading out for the adventure of a lifetime.
Until next time,
peace & hugs
