***Im a day behind on writing this again!!!***
Well I woke up early after not a very good nights sleep, the hostel was really noisy. I'm in the room next to a wooden stair case so every time someone goes upstairs it sounds like a herd of elephant jumping up and down! Anyhow, I got up and showered then headed off looking for a bite to eat, but Victoria seems alot more expensive than Vancouver....definetly geared more towards ripping off tourists!!! I ended up paying nearly $8 for breakie which was pretty hefty! I then went down to the waterfront to find out how much the whale watching trips were. Unfortunatley the cheapest I could find was $83...so I thought 'fuck that for a game of soldiers', and headed off looking for something else to do!! Umm, to be honest I didnt find much. Some of the buildings are pretty cool, but to be honest this place is too much like an english sea side town!! So I wandered around a bit in a knackered daze, until when I just popped to the shop and bought a few bits and pieces. Maybe im doing this wrong but I always seem to end up spending a fortune when getting food from the shop!!!! So I mooched back over to the hostel and at my lunch there, before retiring to the roof top balcony to just have a read. Once i'd had a relax for a while I decided to phone Jen, the girl I met on the ferry, but just got through to her answerphone, which was a bit of a bummer.

About 6pm I headed back into town for a pint!! Being theres a definete British theme here, theres no shortage of Pubs!! I had a couple of pints on the harbour which finishing off my book, then went looking for something else to eat!! I found a pub that served fish and chips, but although pretty pricey, I decided seen as I hadnt done much else that day I'd go for it.....and I must say it was fooking lovely!!!! They should do Halibut in batter at english chippy's!!! After my fishy dinner I went for a wonder down the main drag, being friday night it was pretty lively, with loads of street musicians lining the road! There was one group with about 4 xelophones (spelt wrong?!?) who were very impressive!! So I sat in the Starbucks opposite where they were playing and had a coffee. I then headed back to the hostel. After a chat with a random looney French Canadian (who blames Britain for all of canadas problems because of some treaty signed with the native indians about 300years ago) and a homeless guy (who was staying in the hostel as a 'treat') I went to bed!! It was about 9oclock!! Luckily I remember about my earplugs, so I ended up having a much better kip!!

To be honest Victoria, although pretty picturesque, is pretty dull. It's lively at night, and it might just be because I'm so tired that I didnt overly enjoy it. Now the decison is whether to head back to Vancouver tomorrow, or explore more of the island.........
