Freezing in Eruope
From Freezing in Eruope in Tavira, Portugal on Nov 24 '02
Hello from Evora, Portugal
After Tavira, We stayed 4 nights in rainy but really fun Lagos (pronounced La-Goosh...go figure)
Evora was a quaint little town with a good party atmosphere...the first night was low key with dinner then bed early.
the next day was a 'sarah and jer day apart day' (tuesdays) and jer went for a jog as it was sunny for a bit and went to see red dragon hannibal lector # 3...the movie was ok but the best part was the big $1 beers at the theater...
sarah saw some museums and boreing stuff like that...
that night we ran into some canadian we partied like college kids for the first time in about 3 months which was fun...fooze ball and everything...nice
the next day hung over, we went for a day trip to sagres (pronounced sagreeche...huh?) with a canadian guy and Kay (a 74 year old swiss/canadian who is still hosteling her way through europe and partying like a college kid...she put sarah and i to shame)
sagres is the most south western part of europe, wow!
so for the next two days we partied a little less like college kids and more like the responsible adults we have become...
next we went to lisbon which is a great european feeling city with many guys trying to sell you hash...we felt like we were back in morrocco.
it also had a very christmasie feel...we had some chestnuts roasted over an open flame which tasted really bad so i gave the rest to a guy who tried to sell us hash...it was pretty rainy and cold most of the time and we hung out with 2 of the canadias we had met in lagos....which was fun...over all it was a really cool city...one to return to when it is sunny.
so we made it to evora which is an old walled portugiese city also very quaint and colder than the others...damn
anyhoo off to madrid in a couple of days and then to bangkok on thanks giving...hope they serve turkey on the plane
