Volcanoes and Hot Springs

The nice scenery on the bus ride from Tilaran was slightly spoiled by all the houses and hotels and massive signs for Real Estate developers along the way.  Definitely a strong American influence in Costa Rica.

Not much to see or do in La Fortuna.  Booked a tour to walk to Arenal Volcanoe and then go to the hot springs at Baldi afterwards.

The walk was OK but I think it was only there to make the tour seem vaguely justifiable.  Saw some monkeys, but I've seen a lot of those anyway.  Saw lava and rocks being thrown out of Arenal which was quite impressive.

The hot springs were really good though.  Loads of different pools with different temperatures and waterfalls and swim-up bars.  Some of the pools are so hot that you can't actually get in them, which I feel slightly defeats the object of having them there, but hey.
