The plan was to take the morning off to do some laundry in Banff, so we bagged up the dirty clothes and set off into town. CHANGE OF PLAN... let's get the gondola up to the top of Sulphur Mountain on the outskirts of town. SO off we set, laundry in hand, to Sulphur mountain where the girls at the ticket booth obliged us by taking in all our laundry bags! Nice of them ;-)

Oh, I forgot to mention, seeing as we only intended on doing laundry, 2 of us wore flip-flops into town. Much to our surprise, we alighted on the summit to find fresh snow!!! However, our cold toes were soon forgotten about when we saw the views - this is a Must for anyone visiting the Rockies - the pics say it all really.

It was then time to set off for the Calgary Stampede - Yee Haw!!

We eventually found some parking and entered 'The Greatest Show on Earth'! We walked around checking out all the stalls and feeling a little underdressed, seeing as we didn't wear check shirts, hats and cowboy boots... next time! It was then time to head into the main arena for the Chuckwagon races. Wow... those horse and carts can surely turn quickly. Afterwards, we got a little live show by Natasha Beddingfield and the mighty proud Canadian teens celebrating 100yr links with Quebec. With all the live music, we did a bit of 'grab your partner by the hand' dancing and unfortunately I lost my Rip Curls (sun glasses) in the process ;-( Oh well!

Drove back to Banff in the early hours with some beautiful sights of the mountains lit up by the moon.
