Back to the Real Africa
From Back to the Real Africa in Manzini, Swaziland on Aug 19 '02
It was great to leave South Africa and go to Swaziland. I felt like I was getting back to what I had seen for the majority of the time I was in Africa, in a way, `the real Africa`. I stayed at the Sondzela hostel, which is inside of a game park. A few travellers and I did a walk around the park. This turned out to be agreat way to see the animals. We saw Zebras, Wharthogs, Ostriches, and even an Eland! But, the highlight was the Crocodile pool(which would have been better if we had been there for the feeding day) and the Hippo pool where I saw four Hippos on an island, basking in the sun not more than 25ft away. This was the first time that I had seen Hippos out of the water and I was quite pleased! At night we went to a show that the locals put on where they danced and sang in their traditional clothing. It was interesting. The hostel also put on great bbq`s every night. It was a fantastic few days.
