Okay, so this has nothing to do with traveling and teaching abroad, but I thought I might as well jot something down about Barcelona.  Erika and I met up there and spent 8 nights in hostels.

We had a fantastic time and saw A LOT of Gaudi stuff.  La Sagrada Familia is extremely impressive, but Parc Guell was the highlight for me.  It's absolutely gorgeous.

We also drank lots of beer and ate lots of tapas...  I swam in the Mediterranean Sea for the first time, and we went on a hobie cat sailing tour.  We also went to the aquarium, which is very well done (especially for kids), though many of the signs were not relevant to the exhibits around them...

We spent some time in the Bari Gotic and saw the Cathedral and a cool museum with an archeological excavation site.  We also met up with a friend of Erika's who she'd met in Germany while studying there, and hung out with him and his girlfriend.  We had an expensive dinner one night, which was fun, and lots of meals on the cheap...

I would definitely spend more time in Barcelona, but couldn't imagine living there.  It's very busy, very crowded, and though it's fantastic for people watching, I think it would be a bit too busy to call home.
