Another Hot Day

Davis is absolutely beautiful. It has the market on dry heat, but is always sunny, and the bus system is amazing, so walking in the heat is not really an issue. The biking pathways are quite extensive as well, and almost everyone bikes everywhere. I've been working in Wood Laboratory as part of an environmental toxicology undergraduate research program. So far, in general I am responsible for developing methods to examine mechanisms of biochemical pathways in yeast and E. coli. It has allowed me to jump into a crash course of biochemistry and requires a great deal of personal time reading up on current topics and techniques within the field. I am looking forward to the rest of my 8 week program.
