Sundowners on the banks of the Chobe
From Sundowners on the banks of the Chobe in Kasane, Botswana on Sep 22 '05
So there we were, northern Botswana. Sitting on a deck sipping sundowners. Over the river - Namibia, Â with the Zambian border to the right of us.
Dramatic sunsets, as African sunsets tend to be. Elephants on the side of the road in town, warthogs walking down the main road. This was our third visit to Kasane, en route to Siavonga on the banks of Lake Kariba, Zambian side.
5 star accommodation, not cheap (when paying in South African Rands), but somehow, it feels more African than South Africa. A varied menu for dinner including roast warthog, local fish and icy cold beers.
Kasane is always a stop over for us. We usually arrive on day two, after a long drive from Southern Botswana. It is magical and peaceful and in fact, we find it quite spiritual.
