The train ride to Salzburg was amazingly beautiful. Lots of mountains and just a totally different train ride experience from previously.

Our first excursion was the "Fraulein Maria's Bicycle Tour". We headed to Mirabell garden, where the tour starts. We met our guide, Peter, and was joined with 2 other American tourists. The Mirabell garden was where "Maria" from The Sound of Music sang "Do Re Mi" with the children.

Our first excursion was the "Fraulein Maria's Bicycle Tour".

Peter went really fast on his bicycle. He could have slowed down a bit more so that we could enjoy the whole tour slowly. We rode past a horsepond, churches and the house that was the oresidence of Capt. Von Trapp.

We also rode to St. Peter's cemetary, the place where the Von Trapp family hid from the Nazis. It was really exciting becuase you feel like you are actually "on set".

We also rode into the country side areas where the children climbed trees. Oh and we saw another house that was also part of the Von Trapp residence. We found out that the back and front of the residence are actually 2 different houses.

Peter also showed us where the mountains where Maria sang were, and also the "16 going on 17" shelter.

Our resting stop was Hellbrunn. It was a park with fountains by architect Santio Solari. We had an ice cream break before heading back to the starting point.

We came by a flea market near the river. They were selling really unique stuff. I bought a little coin purse for my mom.

We also found a street of shops, called Getreidegasse. It was a fantastic street of shops and buildings.

We visited the Cathedral, Dom and Mozartplatz where there is a statue of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. There were shops all over selling mozart sounvenirs. He's a really celebrated person there.
