In which we find out that Jungle truely is massive.

Wow! Jungle is massive. But actually really massive!
After the bus to the docks we boarded a boat. It was a wooden long boat, you know, like the ones you see in murky jungle rivers. This boat went down a long murky jungle river.... Into a jungle!
we walk through human shit, and we frolock with leopards.
I've never been in a jungle before and I was very excited as was Greg as was Luke as was I imagine everyone else on the boat. (which I think consisted of 2 dutch women and the boat driver).
When we got there we checked into our place which in daylight seemed very nice. Then we got a car transfer into town. (town could also be refered to as a series of floating huts on a river) We hung around for a bit, looked about and ate. The area was very much like a jungle with the river and trees and hot heat and what have you.
That night we went into the actual thick jungle for a night jungle walk. In it we saw a snake and lots of spiders like the monkey spider (it jumps) and the yellow ring snake (its poisoness). We saw a load of other stuff too but the night before someone had seen a 5 meter python so we were mainly looking for that. We were actively looking for the one thing we should have been actively trying to avoid. We didn't find it but another group did. Lucky bastards. Our tour guide was lovely, helpful and friendly which was good, but she was also scared of the snake she was looking for. Bless.
That night when we got back we went into our room. earlier when I said the place was nice by daylight... well in my bed was a cockroach (apparantly this used to be in Lukes bed also. Outside on the way to the topilets was an insect I have never seen before the size of my fist or a tennis ball and it fuckin flew. It was a clumsy and scary thing.
Of course I am not scared of anything.
In the bathroom were more of these. Once passed these though you are confronted with a frog. A frog which was there both nights so I assume was the keeper of the bathroom. Nothing seemed dangerous though. (except the frog)
The next day, (after a suprisingly good nights sleep) we went for an early jungle walk up a massive hill in sweltering temperatures. Photos will show that for some reason I sweat mainly from the legs. (oh, and everywhere else as well) we had the same tour guide again who took us to the canopies. These were massive string bridges made very high over the jungle. Great views and also alot of fun!
The next section of the day involved rapid shooting in a wooden longboat. It couldn't really be called 'shooting' though as it was quite slow. And the boat wouldn't have managed anything more bless it. We got dropped off in a place where we were expected to swim. And we did, we jumped in to find that it was a place surrounded by shit. So bassically we jumped into watery shit. After that we walked about abit to find that we were also walking, sometimes shin deep in shit. Very genuinly possibly human shit. Once that was something I couldn't say I'd done. Now I have. Add that to the memories! When we got back to the 'town' I jumped in the murky river to clense myself of shit, as did Luke. Greg opted for a shower. To be honest I just wanted to jump in the river. THEN i had a shower. Greg is wise. The river had a massive current though so it was hard to stay still or get out.
We ate from a local market, massive omlettes filled with Bajhi stuff, Watermelon juice from a bag, waterbean chili things and blueberry donughts. All for about a pound each. It was really good food! All from street sellers! Take that sister. (whoever you are!)
That night we went on jungle safari in the back of a very cramped 4x4 truck. This waspretty cool but towards the end lost momentum. However we did see some wild boar (pumba) and some owls and some cool tree frogs. Also.. wait for it.... A Leopard! 3 infact. (although I only saw 2) and they were cute little leopards! Very cool!
This morning we got back on a boat. One of those long wooden boats you see on murky jungle rivers. You know.
Today we got back into Kuala lumpur. I'll tell you about the next steps of our travels probably when we reach an island again! In a bit!
