i had no intensions of spending more time in Lima since everyone i talked to said nothing nice about Lima. Oh the city is seedy....the city is full of crime...etc. But i had 10 hours to kill between the time i got off the bus and to the time when i have to board my plane...so why not! :)
I arrived in Lima about 9am or so at the bus terminal, took a cab to the airport to drop off my bag and left immediately to the central part of Lima. To be honest, the central part was quite nice. The main square is beautiful, the main cathedral is so grand and all the churches i saw reminds me of the churches in Europe. I had lunch at a restaurant called Machu Picchu haha and it was full of local people - of course i had to have one last plate of fried food before i leave...mmm! then i explored the center - saw San Francisco church and the catacomb museum, and i was hunting for more peruvian souvenirs but realized all the artesan markets were not in central lima but in miraflores which i was at on the first day of my trip (sorry mom i couldnt get the alpaca pashmina...maybe u can cut the blanket in half haha). the whole central part of lima reminded me of an european city - its so beautiful..im kind of surprised that people dont like Lima. I mean the city is huge and the rest of the city may not be nice...but certainly this part is worth seeing.

the day went by too quickly - i had to go back to the airport to check in. All good things must come to an end - i had to say bye to south america, my temporary home for 4 weeks, and head home to the cold....brrrrrrr
