It was lucky that we were travelling back home today, because the weather was truly foul! We made our way down to the National Park Centre to catch the bus back to Skipton. Here we huddled into the rather impressive bus shelter where we watched the owners of two old Morgan’s debate what had happened to the third member of their party. Why on earth would they want to be wrapped up at home in the warm when they could be driving an open topped car in the pouring rain?
I had hoped that our bus journey to Skipton would be another opportunity to admire the surrounding countryside. Sadly we could barely see out of the windows. There was an awful lot of flooding out there and a great deal of surface water on the roads. Frankly we were just glad to make it to the railway station in one piece.
Why on earth would they want to be wrapped up at home in the warm when they could be driving an open topped car in the pouring rain?
As we travelled down the country by rail, the appalling weather seemed to be heading up towards us. We did eventually pass through the worst of it; and by the time we reached London the sun was struggling though the clouds.
