Swimming with Dolphins!

Well, it was an early rise for us all this morning. We wouldnt normally get up for a 5:30 am tour, but this was a special occassion. We had booked to do a tour that would allow us to swim with the dolphins in their natural habitat. It was amazing and very sureal. There were over 100 dolphins swimming, and that was after we saw the pod of mommy dolphins with their babies. Absolutely amazing. We had these 'awesome looking' wetsuits and hats and flipper- cudos to Sherron, it was her first time snorkling and she did it with dolphins.

The instructors also told us to make noises, so we sounded like idiots, but it attracted the dolphins and then they would play with you- swimming in circles around the swimmer. Fantastic experience all around. It was a little rocky on the boat coming back and Mom and I felt a little seasick, but it was well worth the pain for the gain.

Right now we just finished our  last minute shopping in Kaikoura, almost at the top of the South Island and we are off to Christchurch where we leave from on Sunday. Cant believe how fast this part of the trip has gone. We have loved every second. Saturday is a lord of the rings tour and we will tell you all about it when we finish!
