Day 2 Continued

Initially I did not know the significance of the undergound river, other than it being a Unesco designated World Heritage Site.  After visiting the St, Paul Subtareanean river, a thirst for undrstanding about the site stung my curiosity.  The URL site listed above shares the description of the underground river and following other links (Reasons for inscription), provided me a better understanding and pride for this Heritage Site.  The site "reasons for inscription" is the link to the report submitted to UNESCO that argued for the St. Paul Subtarreanean River to be included in the World Heritage Site.

Going back to Sabang from the St. Paul/Ulugan Bay area, we took our lunch at the Tribal Restuarant.  We were disappointed with our lunch at this place, they served us Sinigang which had fish that is not fresh. We could have done better by taking the buffet lunch at another place which would cost only Php 175 per person.  Oh well, such is our adventure.  We were able to savor wild boar meat cooked adobo style,  but not before paying twice for it at Php 120 per kilo we ended up paying Php 240 for one kilo of wild boar meat.  My advice to would be travellers here is to either bring cooked food from Puerto Princesa or go to a better restaurant.

After lunch we lazily headed back to the city on our van driven by Rodel.  We did not do the trail, trekking and mangrove stuff since we wanted to explore Puerto Princesa City and rest a bit for our Honda Bay tour the following day.  For sure in the future, we would be back and do the trail and trekking.  It's always good to leave something for a future visit.

We dozed off during the drive back, we only to woke up at Palawan's Crocodile Farm.  The tired tour guide of the Crocodile farm did not impress us, but we were impressed by the Crocodile hatchlings and the big guys inside the cages.  After the Crocodile Farm we went to Iwahig Penal Colony, Mitra's Ranch, Baker's Hill and back to our Hotel.  Maybe it was our tired bodies after the long drive that caused us not to enjoy the City Tour,  or maybe it was just the big difference between the Underground River and the City Tour.  My suggestion is to skip the City Tour all together and concentrate on the nature spots,  like the Underground River, Honda Bay Island Tour, and a visit to Dos Palmas.
