We stayed in Limerick for a night. It's one of the places that while it is very nice and all the rest it didn't really jump out at us for some reason. A typical Irish city, very clean and neat, but nothing special that we saw.

Next day we visited Bunratty Castle which was excellent. The castle has been restored to it's original condition and there is a whole town that has been built around the castle as part of the complex. The church had been relocated stone by stone from another site as had some of the other exhibits. Anything that was not "old" had been built using traditional tools and methods or so they claim. From here we followed the coast and saw yet more amazing scenery until I was sick of driving and we stayed at the Quilty Tavern which again had Irish music so it was another late night.

This morning we drove to the Cliffs of Moher. It wasn't raining when we arrived but it was very overcast and threatening but we were hopeful of seeing the cliffs. When we paid and entered the clouds seemed to drop even lower and although it didn't rain we couldn't see a thing. Very disappointed we resighned ourselves to buying a postcard and then as if by magic the mist began to clear. It was still very overcast and dark but we got a clear view of the cliffs. They are amazing. The photo's won't do them justice but just the same we took a heap. Another spot that has to be seen to be appreciated.

On further we drove through a rocky almost lunar landscape of Burrin which was extremely harsh and rugged, but had its own kind of beauty. Another fantastic rainy day in Ireland. It just keeps getting better.

Sounds like you're having a lovely time and am glad you're seeing all the sites as well as the insides of the pubs. What's going on? I didn't think I'd hear/read a Ussing male would ever get sick of driving!! Hope Rhys had a lovely b'day, was thinking of you. Take care you'll probably be home again before I find time to get on the computer again. Mum heads up to Aunty Bet's next Saturday for about 5 -6 weeks. Happy Travelling!!

Hi, We're all green with envy! Sounds amazing. Forget being sick of driving Shell, I didn't think you'd ever say you'd come anywhere near not really needing another drink just yet!! That Guiness must be really good stuff. I hope you gave them a rendition of 'Good old Collingwood forever' on your song night. Pies are doing well and winning games by the way. Still waiting for some of that rain to be sent back this way. Think you'd better come home via Victoria so we can get a look at some of this scenery. Have a great time. Heath.
