Last Stop in Africa

From The Final Stop in Africa in Rabat, Morocco on May 21 '07

Voices of Africa has visited no places in Rabat

Nicks Story.  Rabat turned in to a great place to spend our last few days in Africa.  We chose to stay outside the Medina and spoiled ourselves in a nice hotel for two of the three days.  Rabat was extremely relaxed, modern and friendly.  It has a nice European feel to it until you get in to the Medina when it is a relaxed and smaller version of Marakesh, without any of the hassle.  Again, it is a shoppers paradise and my friend Humble really should add it on to his list of places to go and shop.

Our last night in Africa was spent at a local coffee shop enjoying the Champions League final and then an early night in our last $15 a night hotel with cold shower.  We were up at 4am to get to the airport and had our final African disagreement with a petit taxi driver who wanted 4 times as much and then a peaceful drive in the grand taxi to the airport.

From Cape Town to Rabat.....quite a trip

Certainly a strange feeling to be taking off at 6:50am and leaving Africa behind........Starbucks here I come.
