By some distance this was one of the higlights of my life so far. Getting into the water to swim on the pristine outer reef (ie about 50 miles out to sea and on the edge of the continental shelf) with the most amazing, abundant and dazzling sealife you could imagine in such a small area is unforgetable.

The diving platform is a 90 minute, very fast boat ride out to sea. On arrival we took a helicopter tour of the reef, circling around just to get a feeling for the size and structure of the ribbon reef systems.

After this we took undersea in a semi-submersible for an utterly amazing journey around the reef. You can not begin to describe the beauty of the place and not just fish but the coral itself.

After this we got our stinger suits on and in the water we went. Charlie as ever was totally fearless and age 3 got into 15 metre deep water and snorkelled along with his mum and dad, insisting all the time that we should 'go away' and let him get on with it..

Really a privilege to do this and life enhancing.
