A Day at the Mall

Once we got back from Kanyakumari, things slowed down considerably in our lives. We had pretty much done the Madras touristy scene, so we spent most of our time hanging out with Sishir's parents and trying to stay cool. I got caught up on my reading and even finished Pillars of the Earth (it's over 1,000 pages for the record). We also watched a lot of cricket. I now know the difference between a bowler and a batsman, and what a wicket is. Never in a million years did I believe that someday I would possess this knowledge.

We tried to do something every day, but some days we didn't leave the house. One day that we did venture out was to the City Centre Mall for some lunch, shopping and a movie. We saw The Spiderwick Chronicles - not a flick I'd ever have chosen to see normally, but beggars can't be choosers. :-) It actually turned out to be OK, in a Harry-Potter-Cheap-Ripoff sort of way. And it was in English, which was the main requirement.
From now on I will be doing two blogs simultaneously - one to catch up on the rest of our India stay, and one to chronicle our Thailand visit. Yes we are here in Phuket at the moment; we got here yesterday and all I can say is this place is FANTASTIC. Talk about a tropical paradise. I'll post a few pics from here once I get the mall pics up. Enjoy everyone.
