Oudtshoorn first impression was the best yet and it definitely lived up to it, after the loss of the mobile phone, we needed some cheering up and the view from George up the pass was the thing to do it. Some amazing pictures will follow.

The hostel was really nice, and we arrived quite sleepy so had a bit of a kip, then headed out for some dinner at a quiet little restaurant called Khalkus, with compliment food from the chef it was a bit of luxury.

The next day we had a trip organised, cycling from the cango caves back to Oudtshoorn 35km. The caves were great, we did the adventure tour where one must crawl through cracks and crevaces in  the caves, if I was any bigger I would not have made it.Lyds had to stop as she couldn't take the pressure. We went around with two German girls from the hostel which was quite nice.

After the heat in the caves it was time to ride back to Oudtshoorn, we stopped at a B & B which had a tea garden and had a cheap but nice lunch. Then we cycled to the wildlife ranch where we were so tired we had to go in just for a drink, strangely since the Lion project, I hate seeing animals in captivity it just is not natural.

The final stretch in 36 degrees + humidity felt like the pass of hell, but we made it and collapsed into our bed.  We again went out for dinner to a place called Jemima's same sort of place as Khalkus, really nice, and we enjoyed talking to a South African couple.

On the shuttle back to George we went the following morning and we got on the Baz bus hoping the next stop would be as good as Oudtshoorn.
