Right after I finished typing my first blog the guy working at the hostel told me that they were going to be full for the next night, so I would have to find a new place to stay, which was sort of a problem, because my bag was being sent from the airport to the first Hostel. I grabbed my 1 bag and started walking to find a new place to stay. There's lots around so it wasn't hard. Once I got set up I went to go find a pay phone, because I was supposed to phone the airport to find out about my bag. I could figure out how to work these phones, I just kept getting weird dial tones. Eventually I got 1 working and the airport told me that my bag had been sent. Once I got back to my 1st hostel they had it waiting for me.

For lunch I found a little cafe place and got a Corona and guacamole. The guacamole was the best I've ever had by far. After lunch I flagged down a bus and headed to the Zona Hotelera, to check out the beach. The bus was packed, and there was some guy on the bus walking around through the crowds while we were driving playing the harmonica. He was playing nonstop for a long time, he was so into his music he didn´t even notice the movie I took of him playing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ypkInKCHoo

Eventually I got to the beach Playa Cham Looc. The beach was beautiful, and the water was so bright and blue. It was the 1st time I´ve ever seen the Atlantic Ocean. The hotels along the beach are just rediculous, and the stupidest thing is that once 2pm comes, there's no more sun on the whole beach because the enourmous hotels block it out. Great planning; beautiful beach, and no sun.

After that beach I stopped off at another beach where all the Mexicans hang out. There was some good live music, and I found this drink you can buy at 7-11 that is rum and coke already mixed together, and its only around 70c, they're so good. After my bus ride back to downtown I walked through that big plaza again and watched people salsa dance while I ate dinner. I even ordered my whole meal in spanish. "Uno pollo empañada por favor, oh y con queso, gracias." While walking back to my hostel from the plaza I passed through another park, and there were 3 girls performing Cirque du Soliel stuff hanging from a swing in a tree and doing their routine choreographed to live music. There was a big crowd watching and they were really good.

Back at my hostel I went up to the roof to check out the patio. Soon I was joined by 3 people, a mexican, a  japanese guy, and an american. The american was really into martial arts and he spent an hour with me on the roof showing me all different kind of moves. I now know how to properly block punches, throw people over my back, choke properly, and how to break necks. Great stuff to know. Getting choked was not much fun though.

The next morning I woke up early, I thought I had slept in till around noon but it was only 8am, which was a nice surprise. I had a free breakfast at the hotel and then caught the bus down to Playa Tortugas. I bought a ferry ticket and hopped on a 30min ferry to Isla Murjeres, which means "the Island of Women". It`s quite a small island, and the primary means of transportation are mopeds and golfcarts, there are golfcarts everywhere, yet no golfcourse. After checking into my hostel I rented a bicycle and biked around the island. Eventually I came to a nice beach so I decided to stop for a while. At the nearest store I bought a 6pack of Sol and spent the afternoon drinking it and reading my book on the beach. My arms are properly burnt now, and I've even got comments about it. Oops. This island is paradise and I'll be sad to leave it tomorrow. I plan on catching a ferry back to land and the heading for Playa del Carmen for 1 night.
