Amsterdam is the most SURREAL place you can visit. You don't even have to be smoking the local cocaine and it feels like you're in a strange dream. Bicycles, bicycles, coffee houses, coffee houses (dope houses) everywhere you turn. Traffic is uncontrolled because cars are few, and bicycles are like cars so watch out for them too. Many canals. EVERYONE is a tourist. I don't think anyone actually lives and works in the city centre. I gave wrong directions to someone for the street my hotel is on (oops I told you I get lost alot). Cheap hotels are away from the main street, went into over 10 hotels asking for rates before finding a decent one, that you had to walk a steep flight of stairs to get to. The room was no bigger than what was needed to fit the twin sized bed and a foot for walking (but there was a coffee/tea station ^^)

Second day there I visited the Anne Frank house (secret Annex) and that was pretty cool. Visited the flower market, the flea market. The Red Light district is crazy, soon as you walk through the narrow streets suddenly there's hookers and strip clubs all around you, when you come out there's the sun again and China street on the other side. There are just random groups of people lazing on a blanket smoking it up in front of a fountain - and it's all totally normal. I think Amsterdam can be ALOT OF FUN ;)
