Well yesterday was our day trip to Kanchanaburi.  At 6am me and Jay were up and down to the 7-11 (24hrs) for some breakfast and then got picked up by the trips minibus.  In there for an hour or two and then first stop, the war cemetary, from the infamous death railway (bridge over the river kwai).  Really sad, so many gravestones and when you looked at them, most of them were only a few years older than Jason.  After that we went to the war museum which had some of the guns that had been used in that time, and a tomb with the ashes of 106 of the men that died inside it.  We also read about the conditions they worked in-makes morrisons and subway seem super easy!  We then just walked down the road to the actual railway line.  It was huge but i think they'd kept it as it was pretty much, loads of holes to fall down the sides of when you were walking over.  I only got about a third of the way over but felt so sick i had to go back, all the wood to walk on was creaking and moving!! Jason made it over to the other side though.  After that we went on the train (3rd class, about 30p for 45 minutes) along the death railway track.  Beautiful views, and we even managed to get a seat each.  After that we stopped for lunch were jason complained about the lack of meat!Men, always thinking with their stomaches!

We then stopped at the waterfall.  Again, so beautiful, green water, and little thai children playing in it!  Jason climbed up to the top of the waterfall too.  After splashing around for a bit, it was onto the finale of the day, and the bit we had most been looking forward to-the TIGER TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We turned up, went through the gates and had a walk around.  In the main area there are lots of other animals, like buffalo, cows, horses and warthogs, aswell as these strange mini pig creatures...not quite sure what those were!  We then went down into the canyon were the tigers are kept during the day.  We queued up and were led in by a volunteer (theyre the people in the yellow tops) and then got taken around to stroke and pet a few of the fully grown tigers.  It was so amazing i was quite scared to breath though.  One of the ones that was sleeping moved its paw and put it right next to me-it was HUGE, about the size of my entire face or maybe even bigger.  When Jason went in, he did the same, but one of the tigers (not one near him) started getting irritated and pacing up and down.  The monk went up to it-no fear at all and just spoke to it and petted it and it just lay down again!  Although this was good, it was really busy and felt a bit unreal; the next bit was even better though! After that we went up to were the tigers are kept at night and if they are breeding, and there were two tiger cubs-probably smaller than annie (the dog), Jay says the size of a big domestic cat.  They were in a cage but you could put your hands through the bars and pet them loads.  Jay had his hand in straight away and one of the cubs was soon play fighting with his fingers-apparently it didnt hurt, although it did draw blood on his hand from were it bit him!  They were so cute, i could just eat them all up. After that it was home for some food and a night in pretty much, ready for today, and we're of the ayuthaya, the old capital.

We remember it well. The noise, the smells, the pesky street sellers, and the beggars, but it was oh so exciting and different from anywhere else on earth. The put-puts were a reall experience weaving in and out like crazy. You'll be OK, just keep your hand on your fanny pack.
