Vegetarian Day Trip to Baltimore

This week I took a day trip to Baltimore for a work engagement, which was kind of a drag, to be honest.  (No details here in case coworkers/clients are reading!)  Anyway, I took solace in the excitement of traveling to a new city -- as a vegan foodie, you never know what you're going to get.

Having never been to Baltimore, I hopped online and started looking for places to eat.  Is it weird to plan your meals like this?  Perhaps... but if there's a great vegetarian restaurant in Baltimore, I don't want to miss it!  I came across www.VegBaltimore.com , which has a list of vegetarian-friendly restaurants that is quite frankly overwhelming.  There are also listings for veg-friendly caterers and grocery stores, not to mention vegan bakeries.  Check it out!

The excitement of traveling to a new city is that, as a vegan foodie, you never know what you're going to get.

Anyway, I decided on One World Cafe (http://one-world-cafe.com) because the location was convenient and the mock meats on their menu were too much for me to pass up.  I had the Tempeh Reuben, which is vegan if you leave off the cheese, and the Vegetable Jambalaya with meat-free sausage.  Made me want to move to Baltimore.  Seriously.

Next on my list is the Yabba Pot (http://www.theyabbapotcafe.com), which looks to be all-vegetarian.  Heck, it's not a long drive from DC -- I may not even wait until the next skull-numbingly boring business meeting.

Great suggestions! I am a vegetarian who visits my sister in Baltimore and the VegBaltimore site will come in handy on my next trip. I've been to the One World Cafe and I too thought it was great!
