This place has totally blown us away, we think it's the first place we ahve been where we could happily stay. The island is tiny - only takes about 25 mins to walk the whole length of it, there are no roads or paths and no jetty so we had to get a longtail boat to and from the ferry!

We intended to stay 3 days but that turned in 4 then 5.. just get the picture. We dragged ourselves away yesterday after 8 days. I just lived in a pair of shorts and scarlett her bikini the whole time, we didnt even wear shoes! The locals were great, we spent our evenings at a reggae bar and got to know a chap called 'mut' (not sure how you spell it) he would as us what we wanted for dinner in the afternoon and would then spend a few hours cookng for us (spicy stuff) so we would have a buffet and who ever was around would join in, we even got a cd of the local thai reggae :) The island was so quiet because it is the end of the season and there are few tourists. Every year the locals (around 150 of the i think) have a party on the beach and in a big open sided hut, the were so welcoming getting us to drink and dance, we ended up dancing until for in the morning a few nights, the dance floor was just wooden planks and the whole place was bouncing with the people dancing!

We met a swiss chap called nelson who we plan to meet up with in Ko Samwi, we learnt to dive together at a place called forra diving. We did 6 dives over 3 days going down to 26 meters. The coral was beautiful, and so many colourful fish! We even saw a 2.5M Angel shark and some 2M rays! So i am now a certified diver and hope to dive at Ko Tao if the money allows. Scarlett didnt like the sensation of diving so we also went snokelling, the coral is so shallow it just as good, were were out for an hour and half - its easy to loose track of time!

The wild life is amazing as you'd expect, there were bald eagles flying around, and huge bats at dusk. We had a praying matis on our porch on morning and a scary looking flying lizard fell out of a tree onto my head!! (see pics)

We are in Krabi now, it has just started hammering it down so hope it clears up soon! Hope all is well there guys, keep in touch!

Dear Scar n Si - you have found paradise I think - reggae, sea and sun would do me forever. I'm so glad you're having such a fab time and love to hear about all the amazing things you have seen. Sorry you have had some bad luck, but your mum says you're ok scar so not to worry - I don't suppose anywhere has all nice people. Sunny April has now become wet may so don't miss home too much, we've all got the heating on! The only other news we have is that Hann had her tongue pierced last week! She can now eat fairly well and it never stopped her talking anyway!! So great to hear from you both lots of love etc etc Claire xxxxx

Hi Guys, Great to see you are doing well and having a good time. The island looks amazing. Not sure I would like the creatures though. The people look really friendly. Just going up to see mom and dad, probably go to the pub with them. Although I would rather be on white sand than in the white lion. Missing you like mad, keep in touch. Sophie and Mark

Finaly got around to replying to you, was going to do it last night but we'd been to the pub to see a band and I decided I was probably a bit to tipsy, it would have turned into a rambling diatribe that made no sense at all. We're off to the pub again tonight to see Ablewell Foundation so I thought I'd get a comment in before hand. Mom and I get very excited every time you send something through, it's probably getting worse as time goes on we just get so impatient for the next instalment. It sounds as though your still enjoying your adventures, there seems no shortage of new experiences, including lizards droping out of the blue. The photos are fab'I particularly liked the one of the Tai guys at the end of season knees-up, there is clearly no shortage of visual stimulus just to observe as well as to train your lens on. David showed Gran your mail and photos, she sends her love to you both as do I. I look forward to your next communique, you're always in my thoughts, all love to you both. Enjoy. Dad
