We got the minibus to Khao Sok and it was very irritating because we had to wait ages at this tourist office for a different minibus (1 hr wait grr!) but we got there in the end. We found somewhere to stay (see above) and the restaurant served good cheap food and I made friends with the owners many cats and dogs. One of the dogs was nearly as big as Jamie and he seemed to take a shine to him (the dog to jamie not the other way around) but Jamie was not too keen and stayed well away! The guide at our GH asked us to look at some of the tours they offered but they seemed to be 2/3 times more than what we paid in Chiang Mai, we thought maybe we could do a cheaper option and go tubing or do a night safari and said that we were on a tight budget but he picked out an expensive one and said it wasn't worth doing the other things which really pissed us off so we didn't end up paying to do anything.

We decided the next day to go through the national park on our own, although we would have liked the tour guy to guide us he wasn't very enthusuastic about doing it so didn't think it was worth paying him the money! Jamie stood on some rocks so I could take a photo because there was running water going down them. We walked a little further and Jamie knelt down to scratch is ankle and there were half a dozen leeches on each foot. We both freaked out and his took his shoes and socks off and I was pulling them off (they tell you not too but they are bloody disgusting, couldn't stand them on him) and blood was coming out and we were bit shocked because there was quite a lot of blood. A guide came past with a few people and he looked helpful so we told him what had happened and he said that they were quite common especially if you step of the trail (those damn rocks!) and he gave Jamie some tobacco doused with water which is supposed to get the leeches off the ankle. We were glad we took our first aid kit because we had some anticeptic wipes in there and we rubbed them on the marks left by the leeches. We then walked to the waterfall and we saw a Langur (see photos) it looks like a monkey but is very distinctive (look at its eyes). There are loads of cicadas about (look abit like cockroaches but they fly and omit a horrible buzzing sound) which are horrible, the cats keep on catching them in their mouths and playing a game with them!
Bloody Leeches! Lots of waterfalls and nice animals, apart from the cicadas!
