Honeymoon Island
From My Journey begins in Mui Ne, Vietnam on Oct 31 '07
I took an extremely noising four hour bus journey to Mui Ne North of Saigion on the coast. At the end of it I had a ringing of tooting in my ears, but you get used to it after a while. Not really knowing where to get off, something you also have to get used to, here (and in South America I also manage (touch wood) to get off around abouts where I want to be, but only because I am alert, otherwise I would have ended up I the next town).
One thing I haven’t gotten used to is the fact that you don’t get hostels here, in Asia generally. You get your own room and your own bathroom which is nice but the double bed makes me feel a little lonely. To make it worse I have arrived to the love island of Vietnam. I decided to have a relax on the beach and all I was seeing was those beautiful couples skipping along hand in hand on the beach, splashing water at one another and giggling. Although I had wanted to get away from the non-stop party in Australia I wasn’t ready to relax yet, therefore instead of mope around I made the decision to take the next bus out to Dalat; located in the Central highlands of Vietnam. On my last night picking the hotel restaurant for newlyweds I decided to order more food to increase my hip span and drink away my loneliness (not that bad not too worry, exaggerating a little), non-alcoholic drinks all the way.
all I was seeing was those beautiful couples skipping along hand in hand on the beach, splashing water at one another and giggling.
It’s just started to rain (it follows me everywhere) so I am stuck in the corner of love for a while. I ordered another drink, Coconut shake, thinking it would look like something out of only fools and horses it comes out in an actual coconut with a straw. So not only am I in a restaurant with honeymooners I am sitting here writing with a huge coconut with a straw looking like I have been stood up.
Don’t panic though, I am really enjoying myself, I don’t want anyone to worry but you can have a laugh at my expense, just this once.
