So having finally torn ourselves away from the grand canyon, we headed off to the smallest canyon I have ever seen – antelope canyon near page, arizona.
first stop was a very big bend in the colorado where we watched the sun go down and peered over the edges at rafts floating down the river, 1000ft below us. then after a relaxing day of bbq-ing and a quick visit to a pumpkin festival we took a trip to the tiny antelope canyon. this is a slot canyon - very narrow with curved walls carved out by flash flood and the wind. the canyon was fairly dark but after a while your eyes got used to it and you could see the red sandstone glowing and amazing patterns in the walls. and with a bit of jiggery pokery with the settings on my new camera you might even get a hint of it in te photos......
