Alright, I made it to Warsaw after a 9 hour bus ride with a driver that liked to drive fast and I'd say partially reckless - hence the flying books and bags! On the way we stopped for what would be my first opportunity to taste the yummy Polish cuisine that I love back home. So, the perogies I had were way different...some sort of cottage like cheese in the middle with a runny, sweet tasting sour cream on top. I will definitely give it another go in Warsaw. I plan to explore for a couple days so we'll see what kind of trouble I can get in to.

My hostel I am staying in prides itself on having local artists decorate each room and each room has a name - not a number. Ok, if I could name my room I'd name it the "Wacked Out Woodsy Room" - because of the animal bed covers and scenic landscaped pictures all over the walls. It's not that bad  - very clean and modern - but just different. Personality I guess.

Prettiest square in Europe!

Warsaw is actually quite a beautiful city. Most travellers I have met have not said anything nice about the city - so my expectations were quite low and I was quite surprised. It may have been a bit foggy...but I still got a good look and it has come a long way since World War 2.

I can proudly say that Warsaw has the prettiest square I've seen in Europe. 100%. Just gorgeous. I think I found it so nice because it was the perfect size (not too big or small) and was surrounded by unique buildings. The entire square had been destroyed after WW2 - and it has been completely restored - just like the rest of the city. My trip to Warsaw was worth it just to see that square. A must see if you visit Poland.
