Settling In To Perth

We made it to Perth!  We have decided to stay in Perth until December and get to know the city better.  We spent our first 2 weeks staying in a caravan park east of the city while we looked for work, but now we've upgraded to a unit!  It's a decent sized one bedroom place on a quiet street in South Perth.  Last night was our first night there and it was a welcome change to have four walls and a roof over us!  We are still unpacking but it's nice to have somewhere more permenant to call home.

Brendan managed to get a job after only 2 days in Perth working for a pest control company called AllPest.  His title is 'Pest Technician'!  After a lengthy interview process I found out yesterday that I have a job at Westnet, an internet and telephone service provider.  It's an inbound call centre sales role - meaning I answers the phone people with enquires about the products and try to get them to sign up.  It's very different to anything I've done before, but I think it will be a good challenge.

We haven't seen much of Perth yet, but now that we've got a home base and some money coming in we're looking forward to seeing different parts of the city on weekends.  We have caught up with Janelle and Grant and our unit is very close to theirs to I'm sure we'll be spending some time together.  We also met some great people at the caravan park we stayed at when we first arrived, some of whom are staying in Perth for a while so we'll catch up with them too.

The weather is still pretty mild here.  It gets to about 20C most afternoons, but is cooler overnight.  My hotwater bottle was getting a lot of use at night in the tent!  But it's warm enough to wear just a t-shirt and trousers most days.  Hope the Tassie winter is treating you all well!

Now that we know we will be in Perth until December everyone can start planning their holidays to the West to visit us! (just kidding, I know it's a long way but you really are welcome!)
