Here in Bahoruco, it was mostly chill.  Many of our people were sick and it was one of those times to relax and get better.  The first day we were there, we walked down to a house in the villiage that the owner makes his own larimar jewelry.  Larimar is a blue/green stone found only in this part of the world.  We got to pick out our stone, draw and cut our shape, smooth the edges and buff it as well.  It was pretty neat getting to make our own jewelry, but not too crazy of an adventure!

Our adventure was mountain biking, one I had been very excited for.  But as it turned out, it wasn't that great because the terrain we rode on was horrible....we went through streams, and up steep hills with large rocks, so we walked about half the ride! Haha, but other than a pedal falling off of one of the bikes, it wasn't too bad!  We rode to a secluded stream, and went swimming, it was so pretty! We also rode to the local village on the beach and chilled there for a little.  We did come accross a huge centipede...very poisionous....but yah!

That evening we walked down to the village on the beach, and had a bonfire with the people there.  It was fun, but it was very dark and the whole beach is made of stones. The Dominican children decided throwing rocks through the fire to the other side was a fun time. And some of the other older guys in the village were trying to get us away in the dark, and we were like NO! We did find one 24 year old guy who was trying really hard to learn english...so we were helping him with that, which was neat...

The next day we went to a place in the mountains where the owner had made natural pools out of the spring waterfalls coming down the mountain.  This place was pretty much a paradise, insanely breathtaking! and the fact that the water was crystal clear and cold, was even better! We also had a home-cooked meal here!
