Z Santiago kierowalismy sie nad Ocean. W Vina del Mar Spedzilismy jedna noc (Autobus 3400 Pesos/os., Nocleg 12000 Pesos/pokoj; 1USD=550 Pesos). Dalej kolejne 7h autobusem (10800 P/os.) do La Serena, ktorego atrakcja sa jej 29 kosciolow z ich niepowtarzalnymi wiezami - ale najbardziej podobala nam sie przejazdzka konno po plazy! Kolejny przystanek to Calama (Autobus 21800 P/os., 16h) W drodze podziwialismy pustynie i jezioro Atacama. Calama to miasto malo urokliwe - kierujemy sie wiec prosto na dworzec kolejowy skad wyjezdza pociag do Boliwii. Niestety nie ma juz biletow, a kolejny pociag za tydzien. Napotkana grupa Czilijczykow proponuje wynajecie autobusu do granicy w Ollague (lezacej na wysokosci 3630 m.n.p.m.). To jeden z najsmieszniejszych momentow naszej podrozy, 39 osob: dwoch Szwajcarow, jeden Ekwadorczyk, ktos z Argentyny, jedna Francuzka, my i reszta Czilijczykow/5 godzin/10000 Pesos/os, piwo, wino, liscie koki (oczywiscie przeciw chorobie wysokosciowej) - wspaniale nieziemskie krajobrazy. Temperatura z 30 C w dzien spada do -25 C w nocy. Noc musimy spedzic na granicy, po konsultacji z lokalna policja, cale 39 osob spi w budynku dworca kolejowego brrrrr... Rano przechodzimy granice z kad pociagiem jedziemy do Uyuni (5h/3200 P/os.) Hotel w Uyuni to 25 Boliwianos/os., Obiad - 2 dania 10B; 1USD=8 Boliwianos)

From Santiago we took direction to the Ocean. We´ve spend one night in Vina del Mar (Bus was 3400 Pesos/pp, Hotel 12000 P/room; 1USD=550 Pesos). Than next 7h on the bus (10800 P/pp) to La Serena - which main attraction is 29 churches with their majestic towers - but what we liked the most was a horse riding on the beach. Next stop is Calama (Bus 21800 P/pp, 16h) on our way we´ve passed trough dessert and watched lake Atacama. Calama is not much interesting place, so we head straight to train station where we can catch the train to Bolivia. Unfortunately there is no more place for us. We´ve meet some people from Chile who offer to rent a bus to the border with Bolivia in Ollague (3630 m.a.s.l.) That´s one of the funniest moments of our trip, 39 people; two Swiss, one Equadorian, some Argentinean, one French, us and rest were Chileans/5h/10000 Pesos/pp, beer, wine, coca leaves (of course just to prevent attitude sickness) - breathtaking views. Temperature from 30 C during the day, drops to -25 C at night. We had to spend a night at the border - after consultation with local police - all 39 people slept at the train station building brrrr... In the morning we´ve passed the border ant took train to Uyuni 5h/3200 Pesos, Hotel in Uyuni is 25 Bolivianos/pp, Dinner (two dishes) 10 B: (1USD=8 B).
