Staying in a cute stone shelter near Burkes Garden. They call it "God's Thumbprint."
Burke’s Garden is an agricultural paradise atop a mountain.
It is a stunning circular mountain peak with a bowl of rich farmland in its center. They sometimes call it “God’s Thumbprint.” It is as if God pressed his thumb into the top of the mountain to create the circular indent. As Virginia's highest valley, it is 3,000 feet above sea level. Garden Mountain towers an average of 1,000 feet in a ring above Burke's Garden valley itself.
