As I leave my beaching behind me and head for Milan I think I have the driving directions all under control, but get horribly lost and end up stopping for directions, turns out not so lost, just a little off.  I find Hotel Eva in a terrific location and free parking on the road to boot!

I head out for a little look around the main piazza and the BEAUTIFUL shops...oh could I spend some money here!

the best Italian meal I have had yet

I decide that I should go to see an opera at Teatro La Scala and purchase a ticket for tomorrow night to see Dido and Aneas.  It is apparently not a traditional Italian Opera, but had they not told me, I do not think I would notice the difference.

At dinner I am treated to the best Italian meal I have had yet and wouldn't you know it, it was at an Italian Restaurant run by an Asian family, go figure.

The Opera is good, had a bit of everything actually, ballet, singing, talking, interesting, I think I would have liked a traditional one better, maybe next time.  The theatre on the other hand was spectacular.  Mirrors, gold trimmings, cream walls and red velvet curtains are everywhere and the whole place sparkles, it must be an awesome experience to perform here as just being a patron was truly a treat!

I found an english bookshop today and bought the book The Last Templar...unfortunately I should have bought two as I lounge and inhale the book in record time, stopping only to have dinner at my favorite Italian/Asian restaurant.

Milan was a great walking city and the people were very warm and welcoming, I highly recommend it as a stop in Italy, more so than any other major city so far.
