Great architecture, cathedrals for Catholics and Anglicans, statue of Robbie Burns graces The Octagon. Took the Taieri Gorge Railway ride up the fantastic gorge and back. Toured a yellow-eyed penguin center but the critters were in molting season and just sitting around imitating boulders. The coach driver explained that settlers arrived in Dundedin in 1848, and nearly everything we saw was built by 1888.
"Dunedin was done and dusted in 40 years", coach driver taking us to penguins.
