After I had arrived in Melbourne on Tuesday night I boarded the next plane on Friday morning to fly to Sydney straight away to visit my friend Anne. Eventhough I had not seen anything of Melbourne so far, as we were busy setting up the house, it was a good opportunity to go to Sydney as another friend from Germany, Dana, was just visiting Anne for a couple of days.

The early morning flight approached Sydney for landing and I was able to see some of the famous landmarks including its numerous beaches as well as the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Once I got out of the plane Anne was already awaiting me. In Australia visitors can come right through to the gate on all domestic flights. We stayed at Anne's friends beautiful house in Mosman. After dropping of my stuff we went right to the city were we met Dana and lunched at Circular Quay with direct Opera House views. We strolled along the Royal Botanical Gardens and shopped on George Street. While Anne had to pick up her friend from work, Dana and I took Sydney's unique mode of transportation, a ferry, to get back to Mosman Bay. We were rewarded with spectacular sunset views over Circular Quay with all it's unique icons.

On the next morning we departed early for Bronte Beach were we had a coffe and beautiful vistas over the bay before we visited famous Bondi Beach. People were sunbathing and surfing eventhough it was quite cold. We walked along the esplanade and lunched at one of the many restaurants at Bondi Beach. Our next stop took us to the spectacular Waverley Cemetery. Thousands of white tombstones are lined up next to each other and face the ocean. That's the place to be one day. Afterwards we went to Robertson Park and watched the hundred of boats sailing in the bay.

At night we met some of Anne's friends and had dinner in Chinatown and afterwards strolled along the Rocks and had a view drinks at Darling Harbour. Once again we got the chance to take a look at the amazing Opera House and the Harbour Bridge at night. Unfortunately I had to leave again the following morning after two fully packed and interesting days in Sydney. I was glad I got to meet Anne and Dana in one of the world's great cities.
